Biography

Tomasz Obloj is the Dieter Schwarz Foundation Chaired Associate Professor of Strategy and Chair of the Strategy and Business Policy department at HEC Paris.

At HEC, he teaches strategy and organization design courses in the PhD, MSc, and EMBA programs. He earned his PhD from INSEAD in 2011.

His research interests include the economic theory of incentives, organizational design, organizational and individual learning. He has published his work, among others, in journals such as the Administrative Science Quarterly, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management, and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice.

In 2017 he was selected by Poets&Quants as one of the best 40 Professors under 40 and in 2015, he was awarded the BNP Paribas Pierre Vernimmen Teaching Award. He is a winner of the Wiley Blackwell Outstanding Dissertation Award and finalist of the INFORMS/Organization Science Dissertation Proposal Competition.
