New Director for International Academic Partnerships attends PIM conference in Chile
Kristin Young, HEC Paris’ new Director for International Academic Partnerships, attended the annual Partnership in International Management (PIM) conference, hosted last October by the prestigious Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). The 2024 event brought together in Santiago PIM global partner schools to further explore partnerships, student mobility, and the future of business education. HEC Paris, New York University (NYU), and London Business School (LBS) co-created this alliance in 1973.

By attending this conference in Santiago, Kristin Young gained valuable insights and strengthened connections with her peers from the Americas, Europe and Asia. These schools, among the best around the globe for their teaching on business and management, are some of HEC’s most valuable partners.
Since her jumping in this new role at the beginning of the academic year, she has had many missions. One of them is to continue providing students with unlimited opportunities to internationalize their learning experience. To this end, she will be able to draw on the 130 academic partners that HEC has been acquiring over the past decades.
PIM's visions is "to be a world-class global alliance of business schools dedicated to developing cross-cultural education and nurturing future generations of international leaders". This year's conference therefore offered its participants engaging workshops and panel discussions on a variety of topics, including:
- The Future of Work: a deep dive into emerging trends and challenges shaping the modern workplace, presented by Deloitte
- Business Opportunities in Latin America: exploring the region’s economic landscape and investment potential
- Best Practices in Business School Leadership: insights from leading institutions worldwide
Kristin now looks forward to applying these learnings and fostering future collaborations within this dynamic PIM network. She also expressed gratitude to the organizers at PUC’s Business School for their hospitality during their Centennial celebrations.
Established in 1973, PIM is a collaborative effort among HEC Paris, NYU, and LBS. This consortium of world-renowned business schools, each distinguished by its excellence in business administration and management, aims to foster international cooperation. The PIM network has grown to over 60 of the world’s best business schools and facilitates the development of joint academic programs, student and faculty exchanges, and collaborative research initiatives among its member institutions.
